BART STOLMEIJER (DIRECTOR)

Soon after I joined Unilever, I was asked if I wanted to take charge of surplus stock. I was all too happy to - I got a kick out of finding a solution for products that would otherwise be destroyed. After a couple of weeks, I was nicknamed the king of surplus stock at Unilever. Perhaps a king of surplus stock is going a bit too far, but I was certainly able to sell it. I know the kind of things you come across as a seller of surplus A-brand items (both internally and externally). As a result, I can see how many people selling surplus stock feel they've got to do the splits. On the one hand you want to get the highest possible price for the stock, while on the other it has to generate as little resistance as possible, preferably none, both internally and externally.
